Looking for a good app to customize my phone

I use Next 3D Launcher. The best launcher I've ever used.

Give zooper widget a try. It's not a launcher it's a widget customizer

I've used ADW EX, Nova, Apex, Lightning, Go, Next, and a few others, but for my money, TSF Shell Launcher is the best. It's costly though, so if you haven't tried the others, I'd give them a try first. If you have any questions about TSF, just let me know.

I like TSF over Next (which is also very good) because I can use all of the icon packs I have to customize every icon, not just some of them (unless Next has changed this feature since I used it last). I also like the TSF widgets: the gallery, pendant pics, notes, music, and the sidebar for my most used apps.

I won't argue with you there. When I heard about it and saw the price, I said they have to be out of there mind. I watched several reviews on it had the money and just plunged. Well I love it. I easily spend that much on a hardware accessory so that's the convincing I did to myself to buy it lol.

You're saying it's worth it???

Nova is good. Apex as well. If you ever want to follow a mycolorscreen tutorial that's what they generally use. Smoothest launchers in my opinion.

Yes I'm saying it is worth it, or spend a much cheaper 3.99 for smart launcher pro if you want something simple. They have a free version too. I also use that when its. A very busy day and I won't have much time to play around with my phone.

Really depends on the level of customization you want to get into. Nova and Apex are pretty popular, and have a decent level of stuff you can play with, but I tend to agree that if you really want crazy with custom stuff the higher end launchers like Next and TSF will probably give you a lot more options (but do cost more).

Personally, I'm fine with Nova, but I don't really get into a lot of theming and custom homescreen building. Beside having considerably more options to customize the home screen and app drawer, one of the main reason I also love Nova is the ability to quickly backup and restore my configurations, which is a huge time-saver if you flash ROMs frequently.

If your looking to change up the status bar, you can try statusbar+ from the market. I think you have to pay for it but it let's you modify your entire status bar without root.

One of the same things i like about Adw.ex launcher...

I said 3D Launcher. But hands down now I would suggest Buzz Launcher. Sorry! LoL.

I agree that it depends on the level of customization you are looking for. Personally I like to get to what I want to get to fast and retain as much screen real estate as possible to display some cool wallpapers or widgets. I've been using action launcher for quite some time now and it suits my purposes very well. Give it a try.

Statusbar+ has rating of 2.9! I have NO experience with it but seeing that, I'd think twice. Good luck!

GO Launcher EX- my absolute favorite! There are thousands of ways to customize your S4! Of special interest on this post- it's easy to set it for circular scrolling. I just got my S4 & figured I'd give it a chance on its own but my patience is gone.

Lacking freedom to go in a circular motion instead of reachng the last screen & having no alternative but to go back in reverse to reach a screen on opposite direction- that is a HUGE waste of time !! Also, with this big screen, it's silly not to use at least a 5x5 page but it may have adjusted to the S4 to offer more & larger options. The widgets are easily resized & that will be helpful while making this exactly the way you choose it to look.

Use of folders is a fun way to make collections of apps- either all needed to accomplish a deed or putting all similar apps together. It's up to you & there is no limit on # of apps in a folder. Yo will learn quickly.

The only thing to do with GO that I avoid is Prime but that's due to a bad experience I had with the lock screen that's part of Prime (Paid part which I tried because I like all of their other things & incorrectly assumed the same outcome for Prime).

Also a favorite & part of their GO Locker, the "iLike theme"-look it up to see the "slots or shelves & once you select your options, the phone opens on the page you want to use at that momnt. it is supremely useful but give thought to which options to choose. Those choices become the icons that sit on shelves to chose to open on that action. For example: If I'm going to deal with maps, I touch the maps icon, it instantly pops to the place where the icon is in place to slide to the right & automatically opens in maps. It is the same for your choices of most used apps. I used maps, texts, email, settings, now, I'm having trouble recalling what my preferences were but it's up to you. One you mut leave as " just open generically"- the rest are your choice. I've found nothing similar to that theme, anywhere in apps world.

The remainder of my RAZR was all GO Launcher EX options. It takes awhile to discover all of its possibilities. You can have a lot of enjoyment while creating YOUR phone.

The only negative-dependent upon your view- All things GO come from Asia & at times the descriptions show that English is not the 1st language of the developers team who do the writing. Asking a question via email may not come back fully addressing your issue. Since most of its use is clear, that hasn't held me back. Instead, I enjoy that this world has become smaller as people around the world use their creativity to make use of our cell phones a more enjoyable experience.

Good luck if you decide to play with it. I've really enjoyed it & I'm ready to give up on this Samsung approach. Now, it becomes mine & I'm certain that you'll have lots to keep you going for a long time. Enjoy!
