Looking for a keypad with an "alt" key

I tried the stock keypad and also swype but I would really love a keypad that had an "alt" key like every other phone seems to have. Holding down the key to get the symbol slows me down and hitting the symbols key is even slower. Am I missing something? Is there a way to get these keys on the stock keypad or swype?

Besides this small issue, I love everything else about the phone! I see pages and pages of complaints here, but my phone works just fine!
