Android Central Question

My current phone is a motorola moto x pure edition
Good antenna but after several years and the second battery it isnt cutting it.
Bought a moto g power, great battery life but antenna sucks.
My wife sits next to me with her iphone 8 and gets signal but with the moto g power nothing.
It was inexpensive and does everything I want but the antenna sucks.
What phone can I get without breaking the bank and get good signal next to my wife in our house and have decent battery life?
Thanks

Welcome to Android Central! Which carrier? You need to make sure the phone you get supports most if not all of the network bands your carrier uses. If it only supports some of them, then you may be more prone to get worse signal, since your nearby towers might not be broadcasting the bands that your phone supports.

Also, do you use a case? If so, see if the reception is any better with the case off. (This is usually only the case if the case has any metal in it.)

Thanks for the input.
Carrier is ATT which is the only one with signal at my house.
I also like that gsm is supported in Canada while cdma is not apparently.
I bought the moto x pure because at the time is was one of the best antennas.
How do I determine if the phone supports all the bands?
I used a case but noticed no difference with or without.
I am registered.

WOW! there's food for thought . . an old iPhone out performing a new Android . . it's a job for an antenna expert . I don't think the old phone is better than the new one . . its an antenna thing . . maybe.
