Android Central Question

Hello - Ive been in panic mode for days - so any help is appreciated. Years ago - I had a Samsung Galaxy s5. There was a preinstalled app that came on it, "memo" by Samsung. Later, I upgraded to a Note4 and have used the phone over four years until the motherboard crapped out on me recently. Memo did not come preinstalled on the Note4, but was easilly findable and downloadable from Samsung's store. I have made sure all of my data and memos were synced with my Samsung account. In fact, when my Note 4 started having problems - I of course tried a factory reset and got all of my memos back. For my new phone, I stayed with Samsung (thinking it synced with my important data) and bought the A20. However, the app is nowhere to be found on Samsung's store page. Even if I download the APK for the app - it is apprently outdated and is not compatible with newer phones... I really had no idea this could be an issue or I would have backed up my data to the pc. There is some VERY important information in my memos I cannot lose... so, I need some advice on how I may be able to get it back..

These are some things I have considered... 1. using an android emulator. However, I have tried Bluestacks and that didn't work. Memo installed, but the emulator wouldn't allow a syncing of a Samsung account. I'm not sure if there is another emulator that will allow me to do this?

2. My last resort is to find a used Galaxy s5... on Ebay or something. This app wasn't even uninstallable on that phone... but I don't want to go that far and with my luck? Using an "older" version of memo than what was on my Note4 may not sync right.

You can find the app I'm referring to by searching for "Samsung Galaxy s5 stock memo app." This site would not allow me to include links.

Any advice is appreciated.. I know I should have backed this up through the pc, but since I synced the data just 3 months ago and recovered it, I had no clue I'd run into this situation.

Since your memos were backed up to your Samsung account (now S-Cloud), have you tried using Samsung Notes and syncing your data there? I believe that should pull your memos since that's the current app for that on the Samsung ecosystem.

I believe SpookDroid is on to something. When I had my HTC there was an app on there called Notes. It was pretty good. When I upgraded they discontinued the app, they came out with a new app to replace it, Evernote, which then synced everything from the previous app. So sign-in and see what happens.

Alternatively I was thinking since you went on and on about how everything was backed up and retrievable, maybe the app has a web address. Trying to log in there might give you access to your data.

Alternatively to the alternative if there is a web page they might have an FAQ page with info on what to do when you upgrade out of the old app.
