Good morning everyone
I purchased a galaxy s4 back in May and have been very irritated. I can?t find the right case for me so I thought it best to defer to a huge android community and see what you guys suggest. I?ve tried 4 cases for my galaxy s4 I?m going to list them from least favorite to favorite; speck candyshell, otterbox commuter, spigen neo hybrid and tech21 impact mesh. I liked spigen but it had incredibly limited port accessibility. Tech21 has a very slippery back so I put gaff tape on the back which is ugly but functional.
This is what im looking for in a case for my GS4

-wide openings around the ports to fit bigger headphone jacks and custom usb cables for my dac/amp.
-a matte or non-slippery finish on the back of the case because grip is important.
-looks professional I have to use my phone around customers all the time.
-tactile buttons if possible.
-protective but not bulky I feel that?s a no brainer :p

I thank you all for reading my post and hopefully responding. Have a great day!

Just curious, why didnt you like the speck candyshell? They seem to scratch very easily..and kind of pricey, but thats all I know. I was thinking of picking on up because my neohybrid frame cracked on me after 3 months

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Flip Cover is a great case for the S4. It is very protective and stylish, while allowing you to see selected information information, and use the touchscreen. You can even answer and decline calls, without even opening the case. It is $60 retail price but you can get it much cheaper at different online stores.

Same here. I'm reluctantly going to purchase the black model from AT&T for the memory. I'm looking for a solid white gel-like case that covers the back.

I use the all black otterbox defender. I work in a hospital. Smartphones are required and the case withstands a lot of "stuff" plus wiping it with alcohol pads. The ports are protected and accessible when needed. Needless to say it has to withstand drops to hard floors.
I noticed, recently, most of the staff use otterbox defender series on their phones as well.

ummm i like the idea of the case but it doesn't allow for easy access for the volume buttons which i would say would be a problem for me. maybe one day when Samsung puts all their buttons on one side i might buy a flip cover.

defenders are too bulky for my needs but yeah if i needed ultimate protection i would use my otterbox commuter which i still have. i use an invisible shield screen protector so defender would be pointless. but good thought!

Well if you want the "it" case that's a looker go check out those by Element. The Eclipse and the Atom. They're the Coach or Gucci of cases though and are not what some might consider economical.

One of my favorite cases I am using is the spigen slim armour view finder. Great protection for back sides and front. View finder works great.
