Or something like that - I found it a few weeks ago and wound up not going through with it. Was wanting to give it a shot tomorrow/Labor Day but can't find it. It linked to another Android forum and had very basic step by step directions and screen shots for each step. It also had the ROM I wanted to use but, of course, I have no idea which one it is.

Any ideas what I'm looking for?

EDIT:
Ok, figures, as soon as I posted this I found it.

While we're at it, has anyone used this one?

I used it and was the easiest thing i have ever done. This was the first time ive ever rooted any kind of phone (had a voyager before my eris) and loved how easy this was. I chose Kaosfroyo v32 as my rom to just cause i wanted froyo :P

I rooted well before this was available, but I can tell you (if you read that thread) that plenty of others have used it successfully. Just read the instructions and follow them carefully.

I think they should rename it Rooting for Chickens, rather than Dummies. I'm not technologically stupid by any means, but when I see the words "it could brick your phone" I tend to turn a little chicken! These instructions are basic enough and straightforward that it's practically impossible to screw up.

If you are considering rooting but are more worried about bricking your phone than you are about being able to handle the techie part, this is a good tutorial.
