Looking for suggestions on how to make my infuse fast!!!

Hi guys,

I'm new to the forum and want to ask the experts. Any suggestions on how to improve the performance of my infuse? I haven't do anything to it yet. everything is stock! I've read a couple of threads that they flash? their phone? I have no clue what thier talking about. changing the kernel version? custom rom? does those things really work? I'm just one of those who's waiting for GB OTA... if it happens?

running custom ROMs is great, but requires you to root. and yes, it does work...and improves speeds. GB OTA is 'supposed to' happen, but AT&T has been saying that since August. I'm doubtful, to be honest.
