..to the Nexus from the Tbolt but I'm hoping I can get some insight on the following things. Searches really haven't given me the answers I'm seeking.

1. GPS lock speed - How is it? I'm coming from the Thunderbolt and I can never get a speedy lock with this device in a simple silicone case. Its incredibly aggravating. I don't need instantaneous, but I'd like to see it consistently locking in under 10-15 seconds.

2. Screen strength - I have seen a lot of concerning posts about the screen cracking, even due to mild torsion in a user's pocket (seems absurd). Are these anomalies or an actual issue? I have no intention of abusing the device, but I need some level of comfort that it will survive a short fall in a lightweight case, because it's going to happen sooner or later. Tbolt has been great in this respect.

3. Battery life compared to Tbolt - This is not really a concern for me, because the Tbolt has been acceptable to me in terms of battery performance in CDMA only mode. I unplug at 7:30 AM and usually when I plug in around 7:30 PM I have about 50-60% left in my Tbolt. Can a a former Tbolt and current Nexus owner give some input here? Ideally, I would be pleased if the Nexus battery in 4G can match what the Tbolt does in 3G. I don't consider myself a heavy user.

4. Pentile issues - I spent 3 minutes with the device in a Verizon store and found the screen to be fantastic. However my understanding is that the pentile trait is more evident with certain backgrounds/colors than others. Can somebody advise me on how to simulate the worst case scenario with the screen so I can see this on the demo before I buy?

Anything else you guys would suggest I prepare myself for? It seems like a great device, and I don't see anything better hitting Verizon in the next 3-6 months, especially considering its vanilla Android.

1. GPS lock speed is great. I used it for the first time last night when I got lost and it locked on in less than 20 seconds. My thunderbolt took much longer.
2. have had my phone in my pocket thrown it around(lightly) and have no issues with scratches or anything like that.
3. Battery life is 100x better than the tb. I had the extended battery on the tb just to make it through half a day, the nexus easily makes it to the evening and even longer sometimes(depending on usage) I am in 4g area btw.
4.I think green backgrounds cause issues on moto pentiles, I have not had any issues with any background I have used so don't think it will be an issue.
Phone has some quirks and some are reporting having signal issues( I have no issues and have great signal) But I am sure you will like the phone, it is honestly the first phone I could see sticking with for the 2 year contract( I usually get a new phone every few months so that is saying something)

Thanks, Premium1. Any other former Tbolt users want to chime in? Thinking about stopping by Verizon today..

I was a TB user as well. I liked that phone but really love this nexus. GPS locks in under 10 secs, battery life is way better than stock TB battery(I did purchase the extended battery for my nexus). Screen is far far FAR superior than TB. I would recommend getting it.

I moved from the Tbolt.

The GPS appears to work fine with the GN. Acquires a signal quickly and don't need to do any tricks to get a lock.

The screen seems fine. Look at any forum for any phone including the Tbolt and you'll see screen cracked threads.

Battery life is equivalent or better than the Tbolt. I used an extended battery on the Tbolt and could get 12-14 hours without issue using Juice Defender. I get that good on an extended 2100 mah battery on the GN.

The screen is absolutely gorgeous. Much better than the Tbolt. I see no pixels at all. Those that complain that the pentile screen is not good are the same ones that say CDs are bad compared to vinyl.
