Loose slider?

Bought a nice used D3. It is great condition except for a somewhat loose slider. Is there any way to tighten these?

I think all the D3 are like that. We have 2 of them in our family and both I think are kind of loose. We even left the tape that came on them on the back of the screen on one of them and to me it still feels to loose. I thought I read somewhere that someone had said they added some tape on the back of the screen which helped some.
