Losing charge when charging

If you're losing charge while it's plugged in, the usual cause is the USB cable going bad. Replacing that with a new one would be my first step, especially if you've noticed slow charging before it got this bad, intermittent charging, or issues connecting to a computer. It could also be the charger itself going bad, or the port/hardware in the phone.

So first thing to do is replace the USB cable with a known good one. If that doesn't work, move on to replacing the charger itself. If neither of those fix it, chances are the phone itself is defective or simply wearing out.
