Hello,

Intermently, i will lose sound/volume such as my incoming notification, sound for my slacker/spotify/pandora.

I would have to either go into task manager and close all apps and clear memory or restart before I can get my sound back. Mostly the latter, "a re start".

Any insight on this issue?

Thank you in advance for your feedback.
Carl

Carl,
When you check the global sound settings (press the Volume rocker once in either direction, then select the gear icon) what does it show?

Do you have any apps installed that modify the sound profile?

You could try booting into Safe mode and see what happens - if the volume behaves correctly then there's probably some app causing this issue.

Yes, i've checked that. all levels are max and still no sound. that's when I would restart.

I don't see how this could fix the problem unless you have a rogue app causing the problem. Booting into Safe mode is a reliable way to eliminate any 3rd party app from running, so you should give that a shot.

Or just start looking through your app installation history and uninstalling apps until you find the culprit.

I just read on another thread to install "soundabout" app. I did it and yahoo, it works gret now. Just set media to speaker and everything else leave on default.
