I just got a new 64gb sd card and stupidly i didn't back up my old one. So now i lost all the dat on the 32gb one(don't know how, it just dissappeared???) Anyway i have most of the music backed up and most of the phone files managed to copy to the new sd card. But the sd card is "read-only" how do i gain access of the files on ubuntu? I can use windows if need be too. I had no idea something like this would happen, next time i'll make sure to back it up. Any help for now though?

I'm using an sd card reader and my phone is rooted btw. Any help is really appreciated, I would like to put music to my new sd card more than anything. Most of my data is on it. It's just I can't transfer new files on it..

You have to partition a 64gb card, the S3 is only able to read 32gb at the most, exfat file structure if I'm not mistaken. You'll have to format the card too, so make sure to back anything up first. And are you sure your 32gb card is empty? Have you tried a different reader, or have it in your phone and access it that way?
