Lost Android need help Recovering Contacts

I recently lost my Galaxy S4 and am using my old iphone 4. My contacts for some reason where not on my google account. How can i get my contacts or find my automatic backup on google.

Welcome to Android Central! If the contacts on your phone aren't in your Google account, then they were probably in the Phone Account of the phone. This account doesn't sync with Google--it's used more to sync with 3rd party apps or with Microsoft Outlook, but if you didn't have any software like that, I'm afraid those contacts are probably lost with the phone.

I am inclined to agree. But, Samsung may have synced your contacts as opposed to Google.
