How do I get back the side tab of my favorites? I can't access the multiple page function without it. Have no idea where it went or how.:(

Press and hold the Back button, it'll trigger the Multi Window sidebar on and off. You also may have disabled it in your quick settings at the top of your Notifications drawer?

You can toggle it in the settings bar I mentioned above. Same setting can be found in Settings -> Display -> Multi-Window.

Btw, some people reported losing this function after updating to Android 4.2.2. If you recently updated, that may be the reason as well. Some got it back with the Settings toggle, others had to do a factory reset.

Is there another way to get the multi window function without a factory reset?

I noticed that the multi widow was light green instead of bright green. How can I fix this.?

Not that I'm aware of, the methods I mentioned should do it. You tried holding the Back button, and verified it's not disabled in the settings??

I tried to press the back button and it did nothing. I tried to change it in settings but still nothing happens.

Hmm. Wish I had any other ideas, have you rebooted the tablet?

Did you recently update? If so my guess would have to be that you need to do the reset. But hopefully someone here will have another suggestion. Haven't had this issue on my unit, so I can't verify any other methods. Sorry!

Indeed. You'll be able to redownload any apps you had before, though.

As long as you've been syncing with Google, all your contacts, calendar info etc should be restored. But third party app info may not be.

I.e. games and such may lose their data.

Speaking of contacts. ..How do I transfer contacts from outlook? I tried kies but that didn't work or I wasn't doing it right. Any suggestions?

I have a Galaxy Note 10.1 but have the same problem: the apps tray for multi-window use has disappeared, no tab...nothing! I didn't do any updates at all & havent found much help on the topic. Samsung chat rep said I'd have to do a factory reset which I just can't bring myself to do!! Was hoping someone would have another fix???

The ONLY way to restore multiwindows is to do a full factory reset. I'm certain your tablet automatically updated to 4.2.2. That update caused most evryone's tablet to lose multiwindows. A factory reset sounds scary but is easy and as long as you backed up shud restore most everything. I had to do it.

I didn't have to factory reset to get mine back. I guess I lucked out. I just removed the battery for a few seconds while still on.
