Alright so I lost My LTEVO tonight in a restaurant, I am really not entirely sure how I just went to get it of my pocket and it was not there. I know I had it at the restaurant as well. I am thinking someone stole it because when I call it, it goes straight to voice-mail and the battery had a full charge.

No I do not have insurance and no I do not have any tracking apps.

Two questions,

1. Does anyone know of anyway to track or locate my phone.
2. If I have to get a new phone is there anyway to not have to pay full retail assuming its around $500, since i do not have insurance.

Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks :'(

Get on google play store and download "plan B" by lookout. Straight from the app description, "This is the first and only find my phone app that you download AFTER you've already lost your phone." Do it from a desktop computer. However if you phone is off it may not work.

I don't know how long it would take for Sprint to activate it, but you can try logging on to Sprint's website, then go to the "My device & media" tab, click on "Family Locator," then the little blue left arrow, and try the "Free Trial" to see if it can locate your phone for you.

If you get your phone back, or get a new phone, make sure you install something like Lookout or Cerberus, so that you can track your phone more easily without having to pay a monthly fee.

When my ex lost her phone several years ago, I tried calling it too, and no one answered. I went on Sprint's site to maybe see when she last used it only to find someone had been making calls on it after it was lost. I put a hold on the service right then and there so whoever had it couldn't use it. I saw that one number was called repeatedly, so I took a chance and called it. Luckily, a woman answered. I explained to her that her number was called from my ex's phone and asked if she knew who had it. She said that she "found" my ex's phone and gave it to her friend. I was able to get her to meet to get it back, but not without agreeing to give her a reward for returning it. I think she realized I could have called the cops on her (she was a pretty seedy individual, and probably had priors), so I managed to get it back. I did end up paying her $40 as a "reward", but since that was less than any replacement would cost, and I would get back the phone with all my ex's contacts and stuff on it, I decided it was worth it. I also figured that even if I called the police, they probably wouldn't do much to get it back, and even if they tried, they would probably scare off the woman who had the phone and we'd never see it again.

I don't know if any of that helps, but at least it shows you might be able to get it back. My ex's phone at the time wasn't a smart phone (though they weren't as common back then), so I assume an EVO LTE would be harder to get back in a similar way, but you never know.

Ok so plan b and family locator do not work because the phone is off. It looks like I will be buying another phone.

Make sure you let sprint know. They will blacklist the phone. They will still be able to use it as a 4.3 inch tablet on wifi, but they will not be able to activate it.

Buy insurance then "lose" it right after.

Thanks to for trying making our insurance rates go up fraudster!

Please the rates recently went up not gonna happen again anytime soon.

I bet you keep Karma busy.

I personally have never needed sprint's insurance and pay every month.

This goes to both of you. Sprint isn't going to miss the cost of a refurbished phone and this guy would need to keep the insurance to not look suspicious so I see no harm in him learning from his mistake and buying insurance after the fact and keeping it to support Sprint.

If they haven't been using it and its off most likely they're waiting a while before trying to use it, if u go to hack forums there is ways to track it even with the phone being off I read before if the phone still.has juice, I'm not too familiar tho withhow to do so
