My HTC One M8 on Verizon was successfully rooted using the weaksauce method when I was running Android 4.4.2.

I just upgraded my phone to 4.4.3 today and have lost root. Root Checker confirms this. When I reboot I receive a "root failure"

I have followed the troubleshooting instructions on xda-developers.com. When I press I Agree I receive the dreaded "root failure" message.

Does anybody have any suggestions..

Peace!

Try to root the phone again and these videos will help you on rooting , unlocking bootloader, and gaining s-off the HTC One M8. Whenever you want to update your phone you have to replace your custom recovery with a stock recovery and this video will help you too :)

Thanks for replying.

I haven't watched the videos yet but I am kind of assuming one involves HTCdev. I've tried that route a bunch of times. Below is what HTCdev says after I have entered my token. Starting to think Verizon has screwed me.

Unlocking Bootloader Failed!
Sorry it didn't work out. Here's why:
<snip>
Error Code: 160.
Error Reason: MID Not Allowed.
