Lots of white noise from ear speaker

I just activated a new Hero today. Came from a couple Palm Pre's and love the phone so far.

One thing I'm noticing though is a fair amount of white noise coming from the ear piece while on a call. I'm curious if this is common or if I might have a problem. Note that I'm noticing the noise regardless of who I call or what the call volume is set at.

Now I'm getting a lot of buzzing when turning the in-call volume up from anything other than the lowest setting. Must be a hardware issue. Sure wish I had better luck with phones

I get the static too when I make phone calls

My first Hero did that. If it's within 30 days exchange it. My replacement phone hasn't had any issues whatsoever.

Well, after a couple more days the buzzing is gone. Weird. It's almost like there was some debris between the speaker and speaker grill. Sure hope it doesn't come back. Still have the white noise, but I'd honestly rather live with it than take my otherwise perfect phone in for a POS refurb.
