I fully understand this is an internet forum where people come for help or advice on problems they are having with their device, but........
Not me, with regards to the occasion question that quickly has gotten answered by the wealth of knowledge here, I mainly lurk and read. My mind is spun by all the crazy problems a lot of you are having.
I just want to say I feel for your frustrations, but can't relate when it comes to this device.
I LOVE THIS PHONE!
No problems here except that vm annoying issue which is now resolved.
I am stock with stock battery and get 16 hours of moderate to heavy use every day.
It's faster on 3g than all of my friends and co-workers phones (iphones, misc. Motorolas, Samsungs, and ANYTHING ON ATT)
call me a fanboy, whatever.... But I came from an eris, the lagged craptastic steaming heap that took over a minute to do anything, including making a simple phonecall, and the battery only lasted 17 seconds, 18 if I was lucky.
So Howz about some TB love??
Anyone?
Plz tell me what your phone does right, what you like about it (besides the kickstand :)
All this negativity makes me want to curl into a ball and suck my thumb out of shame for loving such a POS

I've got one for ya'...

For almost 8 months now (or more, time will tell) the ThunderBolt has been hands-down the best smartphone available on Verizon. Yes, I know this is an opinion, but really, consider the competition up to now. Even the highly touted Bionic, Revolution and Charge failed to topple the ThunderBolt from its top position. Now, everyone is waiting for the next "batch" of devices due out soon. We'll see.

So... I ask you, has there ever been another smartphone on Verizon that has done that? Rhetorical question. But I am impressed with the longevity of the TBolt already, and I think there is a still a lot of good time to come. My ThunderBolt has never ran better. "It just works" is an understatement. My last smartphone was overshadowed in 2 months. It was as if people never heard of it 2 months after release. :)

I mainly lurk too in this forum, but I've found out so many things i.e. interesting apps, tips for the phone, when to expect updates.....but I try to sift through the negativity and bull , because I love my Thunderbolt too!! I couldn't be happier with it, and the only problem I've had to deal with is the VM issue, which was really not a big deal, and now is resolved with the updated Gingerbread OTA.

I know it's been said before, but I think the majority of people who own a Thunderbolt, are very happy with it, and therefore, never post complaints.

So, gutspolder, know that you're not the only one in love with your phone!!

YAAAAAAA ! NOW THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!
seriously though, I find so much cool stuff here, so many knowledgeable folks, and so many tricks and tweaks...
If I had half the problems I read about I would be going insane too...
I'm no stranger to forums. Ford powerstroke, thumpertalk, supermoto junkie, ridemonkey, longboards, even woodstoves. You can't beat forums for unbiased opinions on anything. Just seems here that we own the biggest electronic flop that has ever been released, and I'm not getting it?
I'll just consider myself lucky I guess.....
Cheers

I agree, thought i love my wife's bionic.

I've had my Thunderbolt for since March, can't wait to upgrade. I'm sick of complaining, that is all.

I can't wait to upgrade either simply because I'm really excited about the Galaxy Nexus, but the Thunderbolt is by far the best smartphone I've ever had. I know that may not be saying much because I had the Storm before, but it really has been a good phone and now it's even better. It's almost sad that I'm going to be giving it to my mom so I can get the Galaxy Nexus, because it's been even better since the Gingerbread update, but at least I know my mom will like it just as much if not more than I do. She's been saying since August "I can't wait to get your old phone when you upgrade."

I often wonder too why some seem to have so many problems with this phone. Is it the phone? Is it how it's being used? I don't know. Barring a lemon out of the box, it should work. At least that's been my experience with all kinds of electronics over the years.

Anyway, for me, this phone has been good since day one back in April and has only gotten better since with the GB update and now that LTE went live last month. The ONLY issue I've really ever had were some random reboots with MR1 which were fixed with the MR2 update. Now, with GB and LTE the Thunderbolt is golden as far as I'm concerned. Battery life is excellent, get at least 24 hours on a standard battery and 2-3 days on extended with moderate use. I'm rockin LTE speeds and have Netflix, NFL Sunday Ticket, and free NFL Mobile at my finger tips, not to mention access to e-mail, music, and all my favorite full blown websites (even Flash ones), all with simultaneous voice/data and a killer kickstand! What's not to like? :p:p:cool:

gotta TBolt .......non rooted......use extended battery...........couldn't be happier!!!!!!!

+1 MR1 was the low point. Lots of improvements since. Best phone I've owned. Very happy with Thunderbolt.

Love my Bolt. At least until a few more months until I can upgrade ;)

Seriously though, my first Android experience has been a pleasant one.

i think the phone is pretty damn good also..i did come from storm 1..terrible..other than the email pushes and set up diffent sounds for different acounts still seems to be a problem but i dont care about that..figured out how to root and get all kinds of good stuff...most of the problems i think are operator error...get into here click on that then hit menu and get more settings...i still find something new everyday...but yea i troll all these forums and read try to learn more..i dont think any of the newer phones will be much better..maybe RONCO should make a smartphone set it and forget it IPHONE is close i guess..woman phone....iphone in one hand big vibe in the other..lol

Totally agree, my only real issues have been questionable apps. The only sour note that I have is I'be owned one since its release in March and LTE isn't in my area yet.
Love the Tbolt!

Love this phone. Came from Incredible. Haven't had any major issues at all. Wife has the same phone and no complaints there either. Don't know how I lived without 4g before!

I'm loving the phone...but not Verizon crappy 4G network. I can only hope that improves soon.

I came from the Incredible and that was such a great phone that I decided to stick with HTC.

I don't have 4g where I live (in between Seattle and Portland) but I get it when I visit the city. I am amazed at the speed. My phone on 3g smokes everyone's phones I know.

No negativity here. I have had zero problems with this phone and couldn't be happier with it. 4G flies, and my Bolt does everything I could want and more.

The funny thing is, I really expected to have phone envy at some point, especially with the Nexus and Vigor coming out, but I'm perfectly content with the Thunderbolt.

Same. Especially since reading yesterday that the nexus WILL NOT get ICS. Google tech news on my lunchbreak. Whole Lotsaa peeps be pisses ovah dat, yo.

Yes awesome phone, other than gtalk phone kicks but compair to others. Pick any phone on the market and go to the forums there are problems with all of them. I herd a HTC say cause of the the thunderbolt radio is the over all issue. Being first gen has its faults but has gone away.. ask better questions rather than complain.
