Loud vibrations/haptic feedback?

Whats up guys, just got my Moto X and restored google account from my old Nexus so it kept all my settings. I had the vibrate on touch set to off on the Nexus so it transferred that setting so it will not vibrate when I unlock.

However, when I wake the phone using the active display, it will still vibrate on unlock. Any way to disable this?

Also troublesome is the way the phone feels and sounds when I unlock it with the active display. It feels like its going to rattle apart. It seriously feels like my GFs old Droid 2. Am I the only one experiencing this? I notice the rattle/harsh vibrations when I am typing as well, but its not NEARLY as bad as waking it and unlocking it through the active display/notifications. It makes the phone feel cheap and not solid at all. Anyone else experiencing this?

Here's a quick video of me trying to capture the sound.

I'd like to disable the active notification vibrate unlock thing too.

I've seen other posts about harshly hardcore vibration, but my unit doesn't seem to do this. It gives 'feedback' when unlocking via active display but nothing I'd describe as rattling the phone apart. Perhaps some units are built sturdier than others. I don't believe there is a setting to disable the haptic feedback on the active display as the global vibrate one touch doesn't disable it.

This is the only complaint do to soak that I have about the Moto X. I'm on day 2 and first full charge and to be honest I'm already over the vibration because the rest of this device kicks serious ***.

The vibration is rather subtle on my device. I get the feeling that the loud rattling is not the norm.

Some of the vibrations are subtle. It depends on what it is with my advice. Text vibrations are pretty abrupt though.

Think I should go to VZW Store for a replacement? I cant really compare in store because they all have the marketing stuff on them so you cant get it to lock and unlock from the active display which produces the rattly-est vibration for me.

I agree about the text vibrations, they're pretty aggressive.

The overly loud vibration on this thing is the ONLY thing I don't like about it. I wouldn't care so much if Moto gave us an option to turn it off within active notifications but of course we can't. There are a lot of people that complain about this on many other forums.

I posted this in a similar thread.

Here is a chat session I had with Motorola support. In a nutshell, disabling the vibration on the active notification screen is not possible. (without root of course)

Denny: Hi, my name is Denny. How may I help you?
GMC MaXx: Hi Denny. I would like to disable the vibration when unlocking the Moto X from its active notification screen. The vibrating is extremely annoying.
Denny: I apologize for this inconvenience. Let me go ahead and check this for you.
GMC MaXx: I've disabled the vibration in the google keyboard settings and I've also disabled vibrate on touch through the sounds menu.
Denny: Can you go to Settings > Active Notifications > Check if there's an option to disable vibrate on unlock.
File attachment upload has started.
The file Screenshot_2013-09-06-12-11-29.png (158.4KB) was received.
GMC MaXx: No such option available.

Denny: Let me go ahead and check this for you. One moment please.
Denny: I do apologize for this. I tried to check if there are any other workarounds on this. It seems that there is none as of the moment. Although I will go ahead and take note of this so that I can pass this on to the right department for further investigation.
GMC MaXx: That's unfortunate. It's a fantastic phone and the vibration is my only complaint. I hope they add this option in an update.
Denny: I understand. Hopefully, we can get an update about this as soon as possible. But rest assured that I will pass this on so that the right department will be aware about this.

I've been posting about it on their official Moto X forum. There's a bunch of other people who are too. Their forum team is quite responsive and said they will pass the complaints along. I encourage everyone who is annoyed by it to post over there. The more people to complain, the more likely they'll give us the option in a future update.
