Love Bixby!

Adding a physical button to only invoke one function?

We learned Amazon's Alexa was listening in, as was Google.

Samsung could, no sign they are, learn a lot about it's users. Preferences, news (Internet browser has news on Quick Access) along with shopping and marketing.

Could they try to sell what they know and get a piece of the ad dollars?

If there was no button, fine, but Samsung has more in their plans than Siri it an AI.

I very much know how to use Bixby. I find it funny you use that as a defense as if it is hard to use Bixby lol. Just because it may not be my fav doesn't mean I somehow don't know how to click a button and ask it things.

Sure it CAN do it .. sometimes. I have asked it questions and sorry it doesn't get it like GA does for me.

Did they tell you they don't?
Whatever question you're asking it and "it doesn't get it like GA" goes to show that you don't know how to use it lol.

But since you don't like it why don't you stop talking about it? It's like you're obsessed with not liking it.

Or I'm sharing my opinion in the forum since that's what forums are for? People are welcome to share good and bad.. makes for better discussion versus shunning bad and only allowing good.

Also I agree to disagree on not knowing how to use an assistant lol. You can tell yourself whatever you want if it helps you feel better but I'm not the only person to ever have an issue with it . It's funny how my not knowing how to use it still works with GA .

Is real easy, stop crying about the button and buy a different phone. You knew what it was when you bought it so you have no room or right to complain. Buy something else. Don't buy LG though because they now have a dedicated button also. This is like complaining that I can't make my horn button operate the windshield wipers because "I spent my money and should be able to do anything I want" It doesn't work that way. Geeeez.

I personally have no issues with the button I'm more so wanting it to improve. I know it will over time and they aren't going to just sit back. As this whole thing started for me was simply saying that from my use its like Siri to me.. great for direct commands on the phone but anything else is where it's lacking.

That's where user data and improvements to the algorithm will come. Due to the buttons and home page I have no doubt Samsung is putting resources to it.

The problem from what I can tell, is that there are at least 3 different Bixby's right now.
1. Note 8 Bixby - more evolved, user customizable button (i.e. can disable) without need of 3rd party app.

2. Note 9 Bixby - less evolved. Cannot disable.

3. Galaxy Watch Bixby - very abysmal and lacking any development.

I enjoyed the Note 8 Bixby. I had the button disabled and only used by voice prompt or press and hold the Bixby button.

The Note 9 Bixby - I use sparsely. I find it not as refined as Bixby on the Note 8.

the Galaxy Watch Bixby - I just don't use it, it's too frustrating to me.

Why the different Bixby's on different released products? I have no idea. There's really no rhyme or reason for it. I don't think Apple would do something like that since consistency of user experience seems important for Apple.

I didn't say you don't know how to use an assistant. I'm saying you apparently don't know how to use Bixby. Since you hate it that much you probably haven't taken the time to go thru the tutorials and that would mean you don't know how to use, more importantly, what you can say to get Bixby to function as Bixby was meant to function. Again I say, if you're comparing it to GA you're not using it correctly.

You've heard all this before in earlier threads. Just stay away from Bixby.

And I shall until maybe an update to it or another phone where they've updated it to work better for me.

I love Bixby but I only use it on my cousin's S8+ because I don't have a newer Galaxy.

I personally think that people need to give it a chance and not waste their energy bashing on a piece of software.

If I hate Bixby, and you like it.
Don't understand why you want me to give it a chance.
You don't understand hate.
I will not use it.
Don't want it on my phone.

Honestly I wouldn't fault Google if they banned manufacturers that licenses Android OS from duplicating GA in any form. That alone would improve Android user experience.

And as mentioned earlier, I actually liked Bixby on the Note 8. But not on Note 9 or GW.

Both actually.

My opinion comes from the first version though. (Because I haven't tried Bixby 2.0 yet.)

Understood. There's actually 3 Bixby's out right now if you count that abysmal version on the Galaxy Watch.

And yes, I agree the Bixby on the Note 8 is the better of the 3 and is worth trying/using. I'm assuming its Bixby 1.0.

Just download the app to remap it... What's the problem? Don't you know what you're doing? Lol
