Hi all -

I've used the search function and still haven't found answers to the following:

1) I have "Enhanced 4g LTE Mode" on my phone, have checked that the box is clicked on my main Verizon account settings as well, but still can't do calls and data at the same time. What am I missing?

2) I have my "Quick Responses" set up, but when a call comes through, I rarely get the little message option to toggle to when it shows the answer / decline circle. It has shown up 3-4 times, but 90% of the time it's completely absent. Por que?

3) I've read that Verizon has to approve the phone for us to get visual vm, but how will we known when that's viable? The play store is riddled with folks frustrated that it's not 6p friendly....

4) I'm coming from a Droid Maxx (which I loved), and the battery on this is almost it's equal based on my use / screen settings / etc, which is fantastic. When folks on this and other forums are talking about SOT, how are they calculating it? Curious on this one as much as anything else.

Thanks in advance, folks....

1. Call Verizon support and have them verify that HD (Advanced calling 1.0) is really activated on your account. If it is, be aware that not all areas support the feature yet. You could be in one part of town where it will work then go to another area and it won't work. They are still rolling the feature out (like 4G) on a regular basis.

2. Sorry, i don't know the answer to this as I have not used it

3. There is a Visual Voice mail app for nexus phone in the app store BUT it only works for the paid version and not the free Basic Visual Voicemail. You can use Google Voice for your voicemail and it works really good, it will even transcribe all your voicemails to text for free and can text/email/send to the google voice app (or all of the above)

4. SOT (Screen on time). If you go into the battery section in the settings menu, you'll see an entry in there called "Screen". Tap on it and you'll see a calculated time of how much the screen has been on since last charge.

You also have to change your phone: Settings > More > Cellular Networks > Preferred Network Type > LTE/GSM/CDMA

1) I had it on the default setting of "Global" before. When I changed to the LTE/GSM/CDMA I couldn't even make a call out let alone do data at the same time. I'll call Verizon at this point. I live in Chicago-area, so I'd hope that they weren't still rolling this out to such a major metropolitan market.

2) Still no clue.

3) I'll give that a try. Saw that elsewhere as well. Does it use your greeting from verizon and all that, or do you have Google override?

4) I'm an *****. I never hit the button to see. LOL....

For the Google voice, you have to record a new greeting, it bypasses the Verizon one all together.

There is a caveat though, since Verizon doesn't support the Google Voice mail directly like TMobile does, once you create your account for Google voice you'll need to forward all calls to your cell to the Google voice account, the google voice account will then ring your phone. There is no delay that I found when someone calls you.

Also, even though the major cities have advanced calling, there are certain "pockets" in those cities it may not work in yet.

What you did is correct. You also have to activate Advanced Calling on your account.

Go to My Verizon on verizonwireless.com, and click on manage products and apps under My plan & services. Then, click on Free Products under Get
Products.

To answer your second question, when a call is coming in you can swipe left to ignore it or right to answer, swipe the little white phone icon up and you'll have your list of your text responses to why you cannot answer the call. :)

Same VOLTE issues here.. Can't get it to work, though I have slightly different symptoms. I have Advanced calling enabled on my verizon account, but I don't even see a "Enhanced 4g LTE Mode" option in my network settings.. It's missing. I have no idea what else to do.

For your issue, did you try going into *#*#4636#*#* to make sure VOLTE is enabled?
