A little background
I switched to Android with the Thunderbolt.
I had a stock experience and went through 3 phones (currently on 3rd -and the best of the bunch)
The first 2 had problems with the power button, I cycled between 4 bars of 4G and no signal at all (no 3g or 1x) at home, and when tethering (I pay for tethering) would often drop connection, almost cycling within 30 second intervals of no internet/internet. The power button finally works right but not the terrible signal issues.
This has been INCREDIBLY FRUSTRATING and I was about to buy a 4S.
I read all the comments about poor signal and battery life. For me this just isn't the case.
This is coming from someone who has had 3 thunderbolts for signal problems.
Out of the box I am having a great G Nexus experience. I LOVE IT. This is what I wanted.
Those on the fence if you are anything like me you will love it too, give it a shot.
Now onto my questions.
I use chrome as my default browser, and ICS syncs my desktop browser and bookmarks with my android phone. This is great, but my phone keeps loading the mobile versions of sites I want full versions off. It is a pain to everytime I load a site having to click desktop version. Can I default to NOT EVER use mobile sites.
I have tried a few different ways to turn of audible alerts for gmail. I get a lot of gmail and don't want it making noise everytime. I also use G.Voice as my phone number and text number, so I still want it to make noise. I haven't figured out how to keep G.voice on and gmail off. I had no problem with this on my thunderbolt.
Is there a way to do this or a way to request Google add option. At present some apps (most) have menu at top. For a large phone like this when using one hand I need it at bottom. For instance G.Voice has new message buttons at top of phone. Is there a way to put these all at bottom in programs or within program choose (I'd rather have at bottom) If not maybe we can request.
Is there a default digital clock with weather to put on the homescreen. I am using beautiful widgets but would rather be all stock.
Also I pay for tethering, I have used the built in app and it works fine, but I'd like an icon to access it from home screen, right now I have to go through settings. Does this exist?
This is definitely the best phone on the market. The 4S is nice, but this is just better...the only thing that would make it better would be if you could link people's facebook to contact pictures instead of google+ because not many people i know use Google+.
