So I got my Pixel 2 XL on Sunday and I was blown away how much faster it is than my iPhone 8 plus. The blue tint has been overblown for it hasn't been a problem with me. Is it there? Yes but you don't notice it 95% of the time.

Now before I went into Verizon, I remembered to turn off iMessage and FaceTime because the last time I switched from Apple to Android I forgot to do this step and I couldn't receive group messages from iPhone users.

Even after doing the required steps of turning off iMessage and FaceTime this time, I'm still not getting group messages from iPhone users. It won't work and sporadically I won't get any group texts our I'll get a few responses back here and there but will still miss a few from that group chat.

This may not be an important feature for some but I use this a lot with family especially with Christmas around the corner and with my ex wife and current wife about my 5 year old son.

If anyone knows how to fix this please do cause I love this phone and would be happy to stay with this phone.

Go here and ensure it de-registered you.

I've done that to

Hm not sure then. How many are in the group chats? I know I have swapped to iPhone before and I can always come back and get group messages from iPhone people.

Is it the same peoples messages missing every time? It is possible they have iMessage on without the "if iMessage fails use SMS" fallback option (it isn't exactly stated like that word for word but that is what it does).

I have 3 group chats going on right now.

Ex wife and current wife. I'll get texts from my ex wife separate from the group chat or I won't get them at all

Realtor and my wife. I won't get texts from the realtor at times and others I will

Group chat with 6 iPhone users and me with my 2 XL. I didn't get the text from the person who started the group chat and so far I don't know if anyone else has replied back until my wife gets home

Here are the steps that I've done to try to eliminate the problem but the problem still exists

- Deactivate iMessage and FaceTime on my phone
- Called Apple support for help and to make sure that my device has been deactivated
- Changed my Apple ID password
- Told the people in the group chats to delete group chat and start a new one
- Removed my iPhone 8 plus from iCloud

Hope you can resolve it.

We are a 2 iPhone, 2 Android family and we were group texting each other no problem today. So there has got to be a solution somewhere...

To troubleshoot try a different messaging app like Textra and see what happens.

As others said give Textra a try. I am not sure if it will help but I do use Textra myself as well. I have many groups chats w/ various friends, pool teams, and my family. A mix of iPhones, Androids, etc. within all the chats and we all text without a hiccup.

If your group messaging on wifi try turning WiFi off and see if you receive your messages just off of your carrier data. I had this same problem with an LG V10 and that worked for me.

I've found that if you start a new group chat with all participants it usually works, they all have to delete the old group chat off their phones

Why don't more people use WhatsApp??? It's as good as iMessage and maybe better

Just have your friends/family delete the old group texts and start anew.

Time for you to be selfish instead of everyone else.

This is how Apple keep people from switching iMessage. I have couple group text going on to with family members, somehow I was able to convince them all to use whatsapp even though I'm the only android user. Haha. Try to convince them to use whatsapp, or better yet allo haha.

Yes.. I had switched my work phone from Apple to Android, and after doing every single thing, it did fix itself. But, like you, I later figured out I wasn't getting all my messages. I even placed the sim back in the iPhone, deactivated iMessage, went back on the iMessage deregister site and so on.

When I went back to an iPhone on that same number, I ended up with messages from a day or two prior..

Weird, right? I could not find a definitive answer or solution, except to keep that line on apple.
