Low Battery Data Transfer to 4a 5G

So I am coming from original Pixel and just got the 4a 5G and I am trying to do the data transfer to set everything up. During the last few weeks while waiting to get the 4a 5g, my original Pixel's battery pretty much killed itself and the phone will barely function before the battery dies. I can only use it for the most part while charging it.

So now when I try to do the data transfer, the original Pixel barely can stay powered on and when plugged into the 4a 5G, it is charging that phone, draining it and powering itself down even faster. It won't stay on for more than a few seconds it seems once I try to transfer the data.

Does anyone know any way to get around this and still transfer the data from one phone to the other? If the 4a 5G would just charge the original Pixel instead of it going the other way, I don't think I would have an issue.

Have you tried adjusting the setting for which device controls the charging? Once they're connected the option should be available in the notification shade. I played that game with my Pixel 2xl, I didn't make sure I had it charged prior to setting up the 4a 5G, set the 4a 5G to charge the 2xl during the transfer/setup.

I just ended up doing it wirelessly and got most of the stuff to transfer over. Wasn't able to keep the original functioning without being plugged in.
