I have for a long time tried everything but I could get any decent sound and it was always to low - no apps could help me and I tried a bunch of headset and in-ears.

But yesterday I got my self a Sennheiser IE8 and a pair of IE800 (yeah I know they cost) - but both of them are worth it - Now I can hear everything loud and clear and the music it just the way it should be.

So if no apps helps you go buy your self a decent headset/in-ears

Thanks for the tip. I haven't had issues with low sound on headphones on mine, though... maybe I'm not too picky? I do hook it it up to a full blown stereo system and that obviously has loud sound.

True that a stereo system can do that - but I find it a bit hard to have one with me when Im walking around in the city - LOL.

But I just want ppl. to know sometimes its just a question to find a good in-ear/headset and they get more out of the tablet/mobile - to many have the crap that came along with their gear or a cheap pair from the local supermarked.

Try the original cable. Considering the amount of current flowing in the cable, if it's thick enough to see it should be thick enough that thicker won't make any difference if it's less than 20 feet long. (And 4 feet is really too short for the cable to make any difference anyway with the 4ma flowing in the wire at maximum volume peaks.)

Some of the better IEs/headset can give more volume - I have tried lots of them and now for the first time those Sennheiser´s gave me a real lift up - so much that I have to spend some time to find the right balance - for the first time I had to turn the volume down.

I have now spend 2 day with both of them - playing music - watching movies etc. and what ever I do the volume is higher than before and it sounds a lot better.

I guess there are more models out there that can do the same - OK maybe not like the IE800 - but still it´s possible to get higher volume and better sound
