LTE instead of saying 4g?

I've had Samsung's so long I'm just use to it saying 4g instead of LTE at the top of the screen. Do most phones say LTE ?

Nexus 5 used to say LTE in USA and 4G in Europe. (I don't know if it was defined by the model number, or by the carrier/region/etc of the network).

For a while, i tough 4g and LTE is just the same. In fact it was different. Sony devices says LTE in the signal bar here, but the other phone was just 4g.

I think it depends on each country. 4G is more ambiguous. But at least in Italy and Spain, they call it "4G". (I prefer to call it LTE )

There are two carriers in the world who CV consider hspa+ as 4g. Both of which are in the USA. So to avoid confusion, in the USA, LTE networks are either labeled as LTE or 4glte for most phones designed for the USA audience.

Well, honestly, if your device is getting true 4G LTE, it should say LTE. If it's getting just "enhanced 3G/HSPA +," then it'll just say 4G. L'il confusing, but, that's the way our US networks have worked it out.
