LTE on Evo 3D.?

Im a pretty tech-y dude for being only 16. I understand everything that go's into a phone. (Possibly more then most adults.) Processor,cores,screen resolution,network compatibility. Etc. But one thing is confusing me. (If)people could get their hands on a sprint 4g lte(or any lte chip) would there be any possibility of swaping out the current 4g wimax chip(if it has any) and replacing it with the lte one.? I dont know for sure if the antenna that recives the signal is just an antenna or a wimax only antenna. If it wasnt,wouldnt that be a possibility for those who know how to put all the circuitry back together to make a wimax phone into an lte one.?

Interesting concept. But like what they did with the moto razr, converting it to a maxx with a mod of some type, if it could be done I'm sure a third party or sprint itself would offer this service for a fee.

My point exactly man,i know the network compatibility has nothing to do with software(inna small way it does i think.) But more in the hardware. Like your example of the razer. The chip(i think) wouldnt "deny" the lte compatibility to the phone because the Gnex,Lg viper,Evo 4g lte,nd soon to come sgs3 all use(this is again an "i think" ) lte chip to be used on sprints forth comming lte network no.? I think.? Lol..

hello I stated in a thread earlier that 4 g l t e will not pick up 4 g wimax signals sprint told me this in a letter I have a photograph of the letter .
 
It's actually more than that. The Snapdragon processor needs to support the signal processing necessary to handle LTE (this is why the Tegra was not used in the US versions of the One X). WiMax and LTE use different modulation techniques for bandwidth and power consumption.

Also Sprint's LTE operates in the 1900Mhz band while the WiMax is in the 2500Mhz band. The difference in bands may also mean a new antenna. This is one of my concerns about the new Evo, it does not state it supports the 800Mhz spectrum Sprint will be rolling LTE onto once the iDen network is decommisioned. Probably not an issue as that is over a year away and we will be onto the Evo 4g LTE++.
