...For thems as are interested. I don’t have a P30 Pro myself, but I do have a 1020, and I have to say that, wondrous though it was in its day, I don’t think I’d care to rely on it to match the overall photographic performance of the best current flagship phones. But perhaps I’m wrong.

Lumia 1020 to Huawei P30 Pro, part 2: the showdown
The Nokia 808 PV and L1020 PV were technological marvels, niche devices that were really only focused on taking the best picture.... no matter how long it took their limited Hardware and Software to then process that incredible high Pixel density image, so I am not surprised that a 1020 can give a valiant battle, even though overall its clear which the winner is.

The P30 Pro pretty much took what devices like the L1020 brought, made them better, and out them in a package that is a lot more consumer friendly

Yes, there have been great improvements in recent camera hardware and software. One of the limitations of the 1020's camera is in the dynamic range, mostly noticeable as burnt-out highlights. In a moment of absent-minded madness I once considered porting gcam to the 1020, but it was only for a moment.

It's amazing what Nokia accomplished with the 808 and the L1020. They hold up well even today.
