M7 problem or Just Sprint?

I have an M7 that I purchased in October of 2013. I have Sprint for my service. When I am at home I use my wifi for data and it works great. But when I leave the house I have problems with my data. About half of the time no matter where I go I do not have a data connection. The white triangle shows up in my notification area and nothing involving data works. If I toggle airplane mode on and then off about half of the time I will get data back. But sometimes I don't. I don't have any problems making or receiving phone calls when my data goes down.
Does anyone know if this is a problem with the M7 or is it just the crappy Sprint network? I am running Kit Kat 4.4 and have updated PRL. It gets to the point where I just borrow my friends Android Moto on Verizon if I need to look anything up using data. I am due a new phone this year but if this is a Sprint problem, which I think it is, I will dump them in a heat beat. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. Thanks.

I'm going to put most of this on Sprint's network. I too have Sprint and did own the HTC One M7 and my experience away from home (off WiFi) was always a terrible one. The hand off of LTE/3g is horrible with Sprint often many times requiring a quick airplane mode toggle to get it re-established and moving in the right direction. Signal in general was sub par unless I was in a solid full bar area, yet I could compare with friends on AT&T or T Mo with the M7 and their experience was a good one for signal and virtually no problems like I had.

I have now since moved to the LG G3 on Sprint and thanks to Sprint Spark things are better but still far from perfect. Sprint Spark utilizing the mult-band LTE has helped my away from home experience but it is still shaky at times.

Thank you for the reply. I feel like you do that the problem lies with Sprint. Everything points to it. Since I can always use my friend's phones that are on Verizon and AT&T. Guess I will be switching to Verizon in October. I don't mind paying a bit more if the service is reliable and works. I have unlimited data with Sprint right now. But why have it if I can't use it? Thanks again.
