First off let's not turn this into a windows vs Mac debate that goes nowhere. Thx

So fellow Mac users how are you putting music and videos on your phone ?

I have tried double twist but it wouldn't recognize my phone for some reason. I know a couple of people have recommended isycnr for iTunes, I'm about to try this now and see what happens.

Anyone else getting this problem ? When I hook up my phone to the MacBook nothing happens it just charges.

1. Hook up your phone to your mac.
2. Bring down the "shade" notification and click on "Charge Only".
3. This should bring up the "Connect to PC" app.. where you can choose to use HTC sync, mount as a Disk Drive, or use Internet Sharing.
4. Pick Disk Drive
5. Use whatever method you choose (double twist, isyncr, ect).. I just drag and drop my songs straight to the phone. *Shrug*.. I don't really care about syncing right now.

I'm definitely going to be watching this thread. Please let me know how isynch worked for you.

Try out doubletwist with the doubletwist app in the market. Doubletwist needs the sdcard mounted in order for it to sync music to it.

I use iSyncr.

1. Connect usb cable to EVO
2. Connect other end to Mac
3. Choose Disc Drive on the EVO and tap done.
4. Double Click EVO ico an Mac desktop. Defaults to No Name the first time you connect. Just rename it.
5. Double click iSyncr app icon in the Evo folder that you just opened on your Mac.
6. It launches iTunes and lets you select what to sync.
7. Tap Sync.
8. Everything syncs for me except Album Art.
9. Exit iSyncr.
10. Close Evo folder on Mac.
11. Eject Evo from Mac.
12. Change to Just Charge on Evo.
13. Unplug USB cable from Mac and Evo.

I downloaded and use ^3(cubed) to play my music. It has an option to get missing art. I used it.

Hope this helps.

Double twist worked fine on my MAC

The only think I don't like about doubletwist is that it doesn't add any new music that you add to your iTunes onto your device. At least I never figured out how to do it. :(

Thanks so much for all the help guys. Just dragging and dropping now. I have no idea WTF I was doing wrong yesterday. It was stressing me out lol.

I guess I should have googled a bit more before paying for Salling Media Sync if everyone likes iSyncr so well. I may still switch since it syncs play count.

doubletwist has been weird. It doesn't seem to pull in my iTunes playlists or something. Salling Media sync has been great, just expensive. It gives you tabs for music, and other stuff, and you just select which playlists to sync.

Currently for music, I'm using doubleTwist. Only complaint I have with this is how I have to keep re-syncing iTunes and doubleTwist whenever I modify playlists or add music. (I'm still using iTunes as my music manager and only use doubleTwist to sync to Android).

For videos, I use doubleTwist also. It's awesome in that it will re-encode any video to play on my phone. You just drag the video you want onto the phone in doubleTwist and it will re-encode and upload. I had a few XviD .avi's and doubleTwist converted them into .mp4's and put them on my phone.

I still haven't found a solution for photos. I can never seem to figure out how to get doubleTwist to re-sync my iPhoto libraries...they just never want to appear in doubleTwist! Anybody have any alternatives or solutions for photos? I dragged a couple of photo folders onto the SD card manually, but full size photos took up a lot of room. Anything like how the iPhone used to compress?

HELP! Will not connect to Mac

My Evo used to connect to my iMac with Disk Drive, but now when I connect it via USB the iMac does not recognize it. The Evo acts like it is connected but the Evo icon drive no longer appears in the macs devices menu. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I was your standard drag and drop guy, but just got Doubletwist with the airsync, its pretty balling. The first 10,000 downloads for airsync get it for 99 cents, after that its 4.99

jpsamora, i don't know if this answer your question, but this is how i use itunes w/doubletwist.
1. so, i have several playlists in itunes but i don't want them ALL on my phone, so i made a few specifically for it that i named "mellow evo" and upbeat evo". i did this in itunes and closed it.
2. then i plug my evo in via usb and open doubletwist.
2a. oh, i forgot, in the lefthand column, make sure the playlists you want to sync are listed under 'PLAYLISTS'.
3. in the lefthand column, make sure you've selected your "htc android phone" under 'DEVICES'.
4. make sure in the big screen that the 'music' tab is selected.
5. check 'sync music to device'. click 'selected playlists' and then i select 'upbeat evo' and 'mellow evo'. select which ones you want.
6. click 'sync'. it's easy!
