Mac or Windows?

My wife uses a Windows machine to edit her photography. It was a Win 8 machine, had to roll it back to 7 to make it useable. She's using Adobe.

I run Adobe on my MBPr, and it just seems to work better. Granted, we're both on CC, but it's full versions of Photoshop and Lightroom.

It's not a huge difference but noticeable. She has a pretty high specs Asus.

oh nice didn't know that Adobe works on MBPr too, my problem with Adobe's new versions is simple I don't nor want to have internet all the time, so CC was never and will never be an option for me also I don't trust companies with my private data so renting a software is something I despise.

I have adobe lightroom5 on my rmbp (no cc). You still can buy a standalone version without cc.

And i also have another Adobe on my Asus Zenbook/win 8.1. No problems at all...

I think it's stupid needing to be online to edit or create stuff.

One day someone will create a better Photoshop and then the damn cc will be a thing of the past!

Build quality, hands down, Mac over Windows. Nothing beats that single piece milled aluminum main body for a feel of sturdiness. Also, keep in mind that if your Windows computer wasn't loaded down with all that garbage out of the box, you'd be paying more for the machine, the Mac has NONE of that 3rd-party bloatware (to use an Android term) that has to be removed.

Major OS updates on Mac are all FREE now. Microsoft charged $100 to upgrade from 7 to 8, I got Mountain Lion for my Mac free since I bought the Mac within the appropriate time frame (would have only been $20 if I hadn't) and now Mavericks and Yosemite have been free.

At almost 3 years old, my Mac is performing WAY better than my HP did at the same point in its life. Granted, I upgraded the Mac with an SSD last summer but my experience with the Mac has been MUCH better than it was with my Windows-based HP.

We get along just great with our macbooks, ipads, and our Moto Android phones.

Asus zenbook, aluminium. Both my mbpr and zenbook feel the same. win8.1 vs osx? everybody has their own feelings. i prefer win. and my zenbook runs still like a day one in two years ago... it was about the same price as my newest rmbp (late 2014), but zenbook has better specs (already two years ago).

i havent seen garbage on my zenbook. but yes, mac/ios has no 3rd bloatware but it has apples own installed stuff inside which i think are bloatware for some users as any other 3rd party apps...

As a developer, I prefer OS X. As a gamer, I prefer Windows. For the past 6-7 years, I've always had 1 Windows desktop for gaming and 1 MacBook Pro for work and random tasks.

I used to be pretty big into gaming but I'm not anymore (actually have to prep my rig for sale). My MBP plays anything I want it to these days and the Mini is MUCH more power efficient for serving files than a gaming rig would be. My house is all Mac now (just the Mini and the MBP) and the only Windows box I use is at work.

I had a macbook pro in college and used a lenovo thinkpad when I started working. I must say I see two different use cases. I lean towards the macbook when it comes to any form of media consumption (pictures, videos, gaming). Furthermore, mac is very stable and rarely do I have technical issues. However, when it comes to productivity and work, I prefer lenovo. It's a personal preference, but the lenovo keyboards are much easier to type on and type quickly. It's durable and its modular structure allows you to easily upgrade RAM and battery. Plus, if you ever use MS Office applications, they are a pain to use on Mac.

Macbook - thiner, more battery life, os x which is free and more convenient. And best trackpad (touch pad) I ever used. Now I don't use mouse at all :-)
