The Verizon by my job opened at 7AM, I got there at a little after 7:30 hoping it wouldn't be a long wait so I could get it before I opened my office at 9. Lucky me, there were many many reps that were able to handle the initial crowd, I apparently got there in perfect time. Exchanged the Storm 2 for the Droid, and I am very pleased so far
My initial impressions:
Very happy I got pro-active and saved my contacts and calendar on my Google Account the other day as I had all of them downloaded wirelessly in my Droid by the time I walked out of the store. I was VERY impressed right off the bat with that.
The Keyboard was the biggest thing I was nervous about because of the dummy phone I tried at Best Buy the other day. The keys were ridiculously stiff, I was nervous that mimicked the actual device....good news was, it didn't. It feels like pressing the buttons on rubber calculater keys. I do now understand what reviewers were talking about with it being cramped. I find myself inadvertantly pressing the space key when I am typing a letter directly above it so words look like this (b egin n in g) It will take some adjusting on how I use my thumbs to type on it, I am confident I will get better with time.
The screen is as everyone said.....absolutely outstanding. The touch panel works great, the OS is smooth, I like it.
Coming from a Blackberry, there will definitely take some break in, I have been used to that and the old Palm OS from the Treos and Palm days, so not as simple, but yet interestingly easy (does that make sense?)
My only concern is after playing around with it in between customers, I am thinking I had a lot of programs working at the same time, the unit was very consistently warm, and the battery seemed to be draining pretty quick. I did a battery pull at lunch, charged it up again, and that dosent seem to be happening again, so I am wondering if something stayed working in the background from the initial setup.
I am looking forward to being a regular member with all of my new fellow newbies lol. I was getting concerned earlier today I hadn't seen many posts....good to see so many hopping aboard
