Magical jump in battery life?

My TB was one week old on Friday. On Sunday I had the best battery life ever on the phone. I played a fair share of Bubble Blast 2 (In competition with my wife to see who can get through all the packs the fastest) and did some forum browsing via Tapatalk. I barely lost 20% through the day. I put the phone on charge as I do every night before I go to bed to get it topped off. I haven't gotten a charger for my bedroom yet and I keep the phone on all night since I am semi on call for my work at all times. I have gotten into a habit of rebooting the phone before going to bed to ensure all the apps I have been using throughout the day are cleared. I'll normally lose 45--80+% of battery life as the night goes on. Well last night I lost 19% and that was it! I'm afraid to reboot, or install anything on the phone at this point for fear that the battery life will somehow go through the toilet again.

The battery is probably settling in then. I lose about 11% overnight while off the charger. I wouldn't be concerned about adding anything else. I even told my wife to not freak out about battery life on the Revolution because the battery has to be broken in and get used to the way she uses the phone. I told her it would probably take about a week before she could really know about how long her battery will last because she only got it Saturday.

That is a good point. I'm back to work today so it will be interesting to see how it holds up. I also had WiFi turned all all day Sunday, I wonder if that has an effect since the data isn't going through the cell network.

WiFi does help, so whenever you can use WiFi do so. However, I don't believe it adds THAT much more in terms of battery life. Given the fact that the phone is only a week and a half old, I would say the battery is probably just finally getting broken in.

WIFI does have a huge effect on battery life...well, I should say that anything that isn't 4G LTE has a huge effect.

I generally keep 4G turned on, but if I'm going to be away from a power supply for an extended period of time, I just turn the LTE radio off and switch to "CDMA auto (PRL)" to use 3G only. Just this Saturday, for example, I was visiting a friend and put my phone into 3G only mode. After ~20 hours, I still had 40% battery remaining. Wasn't using the phone that heavily, but I did make a few calls and jump on the Internet a couple of times as well and checked the baseball scores throughout the evening.

At home, with WIFI connected, I generally do the same thing as you...top off the battery before going to bed, and usually wake up with anywhere from a 85-90% charge. Seems pretty normal to me. I tested a few times turning WIFI off before I went to bed and switch to 4G network...I would wake up with about a 65-70% charge, so it definitely makes a difference.

I love having 4G technology...but it really does seem to be the primary battery hog.

I don't thave 4g in my hometown but due travel to 4g area a few days a week. I notice a huge difference in battery life with 4g vs wifi and not as huge but still big enough to notice between 3g and wifi. When in the office and connected to wifi my phone will almost seem to last 30% more then being on 3g.

wifi for our 2 tbolts helps allot, though we are in a 3g only area on the Oregon coast.
also i'm still luving the extended battery. after 2+ days of heavy use my battery finally went back on a charger showing 28%...last charge 56 hours ago.

That's the thing, I don't have 4g in my area yet.

Not sure if you already have, but you can download an app called "Phone Info" (there are other apps and a manual method for doing this as well, but this is the app that I have used since I got the phone).

Open the app, click on "Phone Information", and set the "Preferred Network Type" to:
CDMA auto (PRL)

This will essentially turn the 4G radio off, which seems to save battery life on mine.

You can turn the 4G radio back on again by changing this setting back to: CDMA +LTE/EvDO (auto)

The most life I've been able to squeeze out of my standard battery was about 48 hours. I am in a 4G area but knew I wouldn't be able to charge for a while so I turned off 4G when I wasn't browsing.
Light browsing, normal text and phone use, a little bit of gaming. Sadly, when I was at about 48.5 hours disconnected I went to check my phone again to see how much battery life was left it was in the red and the phone had rebooted. Had it not been for the reboot I have a feeling I would have been able to get over 52 hours.
Aside from that 48 hour period I have had a few days of over 24 hour use, but those days are few and far between. So the phone definitely has the potential to last longer than 10 hours and I hope that (filling in the blank) can fix this issue.

Some people are experiencing a bug where the phone gets stuck on "high drain" mode for some unknown reason.

I use CurrentWidget to monitor the drain on the battery. Sometimes the average drain while sleeping is about 60-90mA. Then every so often it'll get stuck at 300-400mA until it gets rebooted.

There's a thread about that with some activity going on here.
