I noticed recently that my display goes black as soon as I start a call and stays black when I take the phone off my ear to look at it. Double tapping the screen or pressing the side lock button will bring the display back on.
Samsungs website chat was no help. But today I figured out that the phone works fine when I detach it from the magnetized wallet part of the case, leaving only the smaller case attached to the back.
Case is here: https://burkleycase.com/collections...amsung-galaxy-s20-plus?variant=31318343385182
The screen will be lit up until I allow the magnetized back to attach to folding wallet part of the case and then go black. I pull it back off the wallet part (with the smaller part of the case still on the back of the phone) and the display lights back up.
I assume this is due to magnetic interference when the larger part of the case is attached, it just really surprises me this is a problem when the sensor is on the screen and not on the back.
Anyway, any ideas about how to fix this without getting a new case?
Is this purely a physical problem or could software be at fault too?
Im just looking for thoughts and advice. The phone works perfectly to my knowledge otherwise.
Thanks
Joe
