I am new to Android and recently setup my new Droid Razr.

I setup yahoo mail which seems to be working well.

The only problem is I would like to keep the mail on the "server" so it does not delete off my Yahoo Mail account on the computer.

I can't find any option that allows me to "Keep mail on server."

Is there a way to do this? Thank you

David

I dont have a yahoo account, but I would assume that it sets it up as an IMAP account. Maybe you can't set this option for IMAP email accounts?

Maybe you could set up your yahoo account using POP3 rather than IMAP? POP3 stores separate copies of email on the server and your phone by default.

IIRC Hotmail uses POP3 on Motorola Android phones (maybe all mobile phones?)

I had a problem with Yahoo Mail also. Delete Yahoo out of your "accounts". Download the Yahoo Mail app from the Marketplace. Now you can see all the folders you have on your computer and can move the emails into whatever folder you want. Verizon knows about this glitch with Yahoo. The tech showed me & it works great.

I set up my Yahoo mail through the Email app on RAZR. I encountered problem when I tried to forward email with .gif and .wmv attachments. These files become illegible to my recipients.
I eventually got the Yahoo Mail app through Marketplace and it sync'd beautifully with my Yahoo account, folders and contacts and all. I no longer use the Email app.
