Mail Problem

I got a new email on my phone and after I went into the stock mail app it said their was a problem and had to force close. After it closed and i went back in all my email accounts were no longer there. I thought that was odd so I restarted my phone and went back in and the same thing, no email accounts. When I tried to put them back in it told me that they could not be verified and could not contact the mail servers. Anyone else have this happen?

Did you do a hard reset (shutting down then turning on) or the reset phone option? A hard reset may do the trick or, if all else fails, return to stock and start over.

Is it a Microsoft Exchange account? You might be better off trying this method. It involves the original Email app from the stock Android builds.

Yes I did a hard rest and it didn't a thing to fix it. It wasn't a Microsoft Exchange account, it was my gmail and my Comcast email accounts. It took many tries over a few hours but I got my gmail account to finally work. I also got my Comcast account to work after I looked at the settings for one on another phone. It turns out my phone wasn't automaticly detecting the right servers and paths to retrieve the mail. Odd problem and I hope this isn't a common occurrence on my phone.

Yes, I also have that email prob with my Inspire. Sometimes I have to "refresh" email 20 times before an email is sent because it can't contact my server (at&t). Very frustrating. I have begun to think that I cannot manually send an email, and instead, must await the next time (1 hour or 10 minutes, etcetera) the email is "set" to send and receive . . . which has led me to realize that the settings change all by themselves!

My Inspire email settings won't remain as I set them. I set refresh email every 5 minutes and "daily" and "headings only"---but it goes back to 3 days and 1 hour and 50 kb. IRK.

I can't figure how to maintain the settings as I wish them to be. If what it goes back to is the default, can someone in here please advise me how to change the default?

i didn't notice this problem until after i did the system upgrade. I am not getting the notification at all.

As far as I know, my Inspire hasn't received any sys upgrades.
