Major Issues with Bluetooth connectivity with 2.2 and Infiniti

I was under the impression that froyo was going to solve the Bluetooth issues with various vehicles. I have a droid running 2.2 and a '11 Infiniti M37. It won't connect! Anyone else having continued issues even after the update. I'm surprised android can't get this issue resolved. I have seen pos OS handle this functionality with ease.

Based on what? Everyone seems to think that updates will solve every problem out there, whether it's 2.1, 2.2, Flash, etc. BT has always been tricky from vehicle to vehicle and I doubt that a single update will resolve every possible problem out there.

What problems exactly are you having? Are you unable to pair? Are you unable to sync your address book? Transfer individual contacts? Having problems with making/receiving calls? Something else?

I also have an Infinity m35. I had no connection problems until the update. Now it keeps telling me that the bluetooth on the phone is off and it is not.

M37 Issues

I also have an M37 and my droid cycles on and off, continually. At times, I cannot make a call, because it disconnects itself. At times, the call fails because it losses connection with the car, very frustrating. Does anyone else have this issue?

Since the 2.2 update

I can no longer connect to my Motorola S9 HD Headset :( Any idea if this will be fixed soon?

Same problem connecting Droid Incredible to Infiniti G37

I am experiencing the same problems with my Incredible and my 2010 Infiniti G37. Will connect and then drops almost immediately. Blackberry and Omnia are no problem with the car.

I found a resolution that will correct the problem. The problem is after the Android upgrade, the Bluetooth cache is causing a problem. What you need to do is clear the bluetooth cache on your phone. Here are step by step instructions on how to fix the problem in a few short minutes:

First you'll need to "Unpair" your bluetooth device.

Go to: Settings> Wireless & Networks> Bluetooth Settings and find where
your bluetooth device is listed. Push and hold your finger down on the
device name until "Unpair" pops up. select "Unpair"

Next you'll clear the cache

go to: Settings> Wireless & Networks> Applications> Manage Applications>
All> then select "Bluetooth Share", then click the "Clear Cache" button.

Exit out of settings and then try to "Pair" your headset again. It should
work.

I've been having problems pairing with my Garmin GPS unit. I'll try the advice in the above post in the hopes it will work.

Thanks for the info!

2011 G37 and I've been having this issue prior to the upgrade and the saga continues. When I connect the device to the "usb" bluetooth is disabled (cannot play media); bluetooth pairing is extremely problematic; phone sound and quality when connected via bluetooth is extremely bad; I have a Winmo and blackberry and with both I do not have any problems such as this. When I plug my Winmo to the usb, I have bluetooth connected, can play media, gps, in other words full functionality of the phone. Tried the cache clearing and it has not made a difference.

I am running Froyo and have a 2011 M37X. My bluetooth connects just fine but I cannot get the music box to recognize My phone as a storage device. I can stream MP3's from my phone ut it sounds horrible. I would rather transfer them to the hard drive but the phone will not connect via USB cable

I have yet to get this to recognize it as a mass storage device and have not been able to play music over bt. I'm just about to run back to my winmo phone if this keeps up

Fix to Android 2.2 Bluetooth Problems

Here is what worked for my two Samsung Fascinate Galaxy S phones from VZW. I received the Froyo 2.2 update via the airways. Since then my bluetooh in both cars stopped working properly. Follow these steps to see if this helps you as well.

Settings
Voice Input & Output
Text-to-Speech Settings

Under the "Default Settings" click on "Install Voice Data"

This will take you directly to the Android market for a "voice data" download.
Once downloaded, and automatically installed, restart the phone.
Unpair your phone in your car, and re-pair.
Problem Fixed.

Let me know if this works for you too.

Samsung Tech support was no help.

After all the gyrations and other posts it made no logical sense that your suggestion would work. I had tried and retired over the last 2 days, probably 4 to 6 hours of RTFM and trying then looking up numerous posts. The goal was to replace another phone and setup a new Droid IC-2. Followed you steps and Voila ! It works. Now to see if it persists and continues to work. Thanks for your post. Thanks !!

I couldn't get this to work at all. When I go to "Text-to-speech" settings, my "Install voice data" is grayed out--not sure why. Do you have an anwser? My Fascinate is at firmware 2.2.2 and the build number is CH-I500.ED05.

Thanks

I have a 2010 G37 w/ navi and a note 4. I can connect via bluetooth and play music, but the music keeps cutting off. I probably make it through one song uninterrupted before it starts cutting off. I've tried restarting, but no luck. Anyone having the same issues or know a fix???
