Major music transfer frustration

So, I realize with 64 bit Windows seven I can not use the media synch software that came with my phone. I can plug my phone into the computer and transfer mp3s but I need to use wma files so that my car will be able to access them. I set up bluetooth after ripping a cd in wma format and transferred the files to the phone. Under music, the songs show up as unknown artist and below that they are in a bluetooth file. Why is this so damn complicated? Is it because I'm using bluetooth, wma files, or what? Of everything I like about this phone, this has to be the most frustrating aspect. Thanks for your help.

Okay, so here's the bad news. With the upgrade to Froyo (Android 2.2), google broke part of the compatibility with wma files. There are numerous tickets out there with google about this issue. Google has known about this for almost a year now, and have not done a single thing about it. In android 2.1, wma files worked PERFECTLY.

I know it doesn't help you much for your car, but for general music use, try using winamp to sync. Within there, you can tell it to convert your wma files to mp3 files during syncing, so you'll be able to have all your artist information on your phone. The main thing I enjoy about winamp is that it has wireless syncing, so anytime I get home my phone automatically starts syncing with my computer. I don't have to plug it in.

Why does your car require wma's? My car plays mP3's just fine (though my car has a USB jack I can plug my phone or my iPod Touch into)...

I can play mp3s through the headphone jack but it doesn't recognize through the usb. I like the usb better because I can charge and listen with only one cord and I have a lot of cords all around (gps, computer power supply, phone).
