Major problems with Android 4.1.2 with P3100

Hello everybody,

First I want to say that I am new here on this forum, so hello to everyone.

Yes you read it right, I ran into some major issues after the recent Android update to version 4.1.2.
This update came from Samsung, and basicly rendered my 6 month old tablet useless.
Issues I now have is,

1. Tablet will no longer regarge using the USB on my PC or Laptop, however it does when it is connected to the wall socket.
2. The screen now always auto rotates, no matter what settings I use.
3. Turning auto updates off now longer has any effect, apps get auto updated anyway, even official Samsung updates.
4. Alarm clock stopped working, no matter how I set it up, it just won't sound the alarm at the set up time.
5. The popup screen now comes in the top middle down on the screen.
6. Screen brightness keeps auto adjusting even when it is set to off in the settings.
7. Many other issues I got with widgets and apps, but I guess they now need an update.

Samsung is looking into this and I might have to send it to Samsung.
I loved my tablet and used it a lot, now it lays on my desk unussed.

Anyone else having so much problems with this update ?

sometimes the updates change the way things work and then its perceived as being broken. all but one fits the bill of changed not broken. i wonder if the alarm chime changed and need changing back. apps and widgets find new ones

Yesterday Samsung support contacted me. On their advice I went to their nearest service point.
There Samsung staff concluded that the upgrade to 4.1.2 has caused my tablet to function in an unintended way.
Samsung staff concluded that the function of the following points do not work as intended on my tablet.

1. Tablet will no longer recharged using the USB on my PC or Laptop, however it does when it is connected to the wall socket.

2. The screen now always auto rotates, no matter what settings I use.

3. Turning auto updates off now longer has any effect, apps get auto updated anyway, even official Samsung updates.

4. Alarm clock stopped working, no matter how I set it up, it just won't sound the alarm at the set up time..

6. Screen brightness keeps auto adjusting even when it is set to off in the settings.

Samsung has also determined that my tablet is in perfect working condition and found no damage that might cause these problems.
My tablet has now been replaced by a correctly working tablet.

Thanks to Samsung, my problems have been solved.
