Android Central Question

Have some problems with my phone. Galaxy s7 on sprint network. I have had the phone for 2.5 years. It has always worked just fine. Within the last few months I have been unable to send texts from my house. Also will miss phone calls and will get a voice mail anywhere from 10 minutes to 2 weeks after phone call was received on the phone. The phone won't show that I had a call. Been complaining to Sprint. I am 4/10ths of a mile from a tower. Clear line of sight to tower. Sprint couldn't figure out what the problem is. They gave me a new S7 and am still having the problems. Weird thing is I only have the problems within 1 mile of my house. I can go 2 miles from my house and the phone works like new. Sprint now say that the technology of the phone is old 2.5 yrs. and that I need to get a new phone. Does this sound a little crazy. I told my wife it's like they have a virus in the phone that after 2 .5 yrs of having the phone that it starts acting up. My wife has the same phone. And yes she is also having problems. Just not as bad as mine. But she also can drive 2 miles from our house and her phone works great. Any ideas on what could be the problem I would appreciate it. Thanks.

My GS7 works fine, updated, on T-mobile. The S7 is still sold as refurb and NOS, so the comment of old tech and buy a new phone is the wrong response
Check your data settings. Try to toggle the different auto connect 2g,3g,lte options to see if it helps. Clear the cache partition and reboot. And if it still persists in safe mode, then I'd say time for a new one. Good luck.
