make background free icons

Was changing all my icons on nova launcher, will a background free gif translate to a background free icon? Suggestions on how to achieve this?

Yes... you can use Desktop Visualizer in the market. You can also search for icon packs in the market. Then from Desktop Visualizer... you select the icon you want to use... it can be from your gallery/any app icon on the phone/or from an icon pack and then create the shortcut for it (which app you want it to launch).
