I just upgraded to the Pixel 2 today. Loving the phone. One thing that I cant figure out how to do though is have the screen light up when I receive an email or text. I am using the Bluemail app and the native messages app.

On my first gen pixel, when the phone is off and I receive either an email or text, the screen lights up for a few seconds with some info from the message. This isnt happening with my Pixel 2.

They are both running Android Pie so I would think I should be able to make them both function the same way.

I do get the notification light blinking when I receive a message but nothing shows up on the screen.

Does anyone out the on the interwebs know what setting I need to change to make this happen and where I would find said setting in order to make that change.

Much thanks!

Did you try security and location, lock screen preferences?

SOLVED - just in case anyone ever finds this post while looking for the same answer. It is found in settings->display->advanced->ambient display->new notifications
