In addition to OS updates, there is the underlying Google Play system. This updates separately from the OS. I checked my tablet yesterday and found I was still on the June version (I think).

Settings > About Tablet > Software Information You'll see Google Play system update in the right panel. Tap on that and it will prompt you to restart for the update. My version after my update yesterday was November 1, 2022, but it told me just now there was ANOTHER one, but it has the same date.

Odd, my Pixel 7 is on January 1 Play System after I did the update, still December OS update (because, T-Mobile/Fi)...
@rvbfan your Tab S7 didn't get the December Play System update when following my directions?

I updated to January. Had to check for update, download and install it, then I was still on November. Repeated the process and after the second update I was on January.
I had to do the exact same thing a week or 2 ago on my S22 Ultra. I don't know what's up with having to do it twice, but at least my devices are up to date now.
