I have a corporate-issue Thunderbolt that has MobileIron on it, so it PIN-locks with a complex alphanumeric password every 15 minutes. When it's PIN-locked, I am unable to make any calls without unlocking it.
There's an "emergency call" button, but any number I've tried simply comes back with "call not placed - xxxxxx is not an emergency number".
On the Blackberry, there used to be a security setting that allowed you to make phone calls when the phone is locked, and there was another setting that allowed you to move the address book (phone numbers only) "outside" the security zone. So I could use a "place call" button to open my address book and make a phone call. It's really the one and only feature I miss from my Blackberry, but I miss it a LOT.
Is there any way to do this in Androidland?
We're all loving the new features these phones bring, but there are a bunch of us who find the whole "need to unlock the phone to make a phone call" horribly inconvenient.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can offer any advice.
