I did some updates on my phone. There was a general android software update which I completed. Afterwards, my files icon showed that a update was needed too, so I clicked on that to allow.
However, I have Norton security on my phone and I just got this notice:
Malware found: 0.apk with an option to delete
The apk is located here: android /data/com.sec.android.app.myfiles/apks/0.apk

Is this malware that must be deleted? I have searched the net for this apk and can't find any info. Don't want to delete if it is false and a needed android apk.

Thanks

I checked on my device, the 0.apk is Samsung's MyFiles app, so do not delete it, it is safe. It should have 5.79MB.

IMO, Norton IS the virus! No matter what you use it on. To me, it's the most hated software ever developed!

I have never had a problem with Norton. I need for 5 to 7 devices including pcs, tablets, and phones.
Used other virus programs long ago and did not like.

I've just reinstalled Norton. Very long live-hate relationship, goes back to pre-symantec Per Norton days on Compuserve. ESET and Malwarebytes wasn't doing it for me, tried others as well.... Lookout, Kaspersky, AVG.

I used to use lookout too and loved it. However, note 3 had issues with it so switched to norton from then on.

I will have to call Norton to find out how to get rid of this malware alert. The only option it gives me is to delete the apk file.

If Norton and Ma 'll warebytes can't, sometimes take major drastic action and grab a package disabled or... wipe system.

I have resolved the problem. I uninstalled Norton, then restarted phone. Then uninstalled My Files update.
Restarted phone. Then I updated the My Files software. Then reinstalled Norton. Everything now good and no malware. Thanks all.
