I'm no expert, just read the forums a lot, but my guess is that NQ is force closing some apps that should be open. So after you close them, they automatically try to restart, which is using up battery and making the phone warm.
I remember reading that an app closer is no longer needed with the release of ICS.
I received the new 4.1.2 update this morning. Ever since my phone is running hot and the battery is decling rapidily. I suspect all three are related. Any solutions?
after the 4.2.2. update on the GNex, a lot of us are experiencing hot phones and quickly drained batteries. Exchange server and Google Maps seem to be the culprits. Try uninstalling and reinstalling those to see if that helps.

My phone was running warm, not hot, after the update and the battery did drain faster. I cleared the cache and restarted my phone, but that only helped a little. It seems after about 48 hours, it has settled down on its own and now my battery life is actually a little better than before the update. Right now it is at 50%, with 6 hours screen on time and 13 hours off the charger which is a little better than my usual.
