Manual OTA Update failure

So i tried installing the OTA update manually and it did not work at all. After looking at the log file it said that the identity of my phone had something called 4.4.2 release keys but was looking for 4.4.4, despite me having a kitkat rom installed. BTW my phone is a converted google play edition from sense, non rooted, followed all the instructions at the time and even changed the CID when told at the time.

any suggestion or should i head on over to XDA?

By manual OTA, I assume you mean you went to About Device and told it to look for updates. That's OTA. Manual would be to download an update file and sideload it yourself.

I'd take a quick look on XDA and if I couldn't find anything I'd bring it to the carrier.

Mine is converted as well, and upgrade was fine.

1. Downloaded the appropriate zip file.
2. Copied to root drive
3. Rebooted into recovery
4. "Apply from phone storage"
5. Navigate /sdcard/0
6. Select zip file I just copied over
7. Wait a while
8. Select "Reboot System Now" from the top of the screen when it appears.
9. Phone reboots a couple of times and updates all apps (approx. 5-10 min)

Used these instructions --> How to manually install the Android 5.0.1 Lollipop update on your HTC One (M7) or (M8) GPe device | TalkAndroid.com

WiFi was fine at first, but then went flaky. I just "Forget Network", reconnect, and all is good.

I tried that but it says I have to wrong id or something. Maybe the wrong firmware?

The filename I downloaded was f8f2c3d027d30a96573d22bc5deb09e70dc38810.OTA_M8_UL_L50_STOCK_UI_MR_Google_WWE_3.11.1700.5-2.12.1700.1_release_403384.zip

Came from -> http://r5---sn-cu-h5os.c.android.clients.google.com/packages/data/ota/gpedogfood_htc_m8_generic/f8f2c3d027d30a96573d22bc5deb09e70dc38810.OTA_M8_UL_L50_STOCK_UI_MR_Google_WWE_3.11.1700.5-2.12.1700.1_release_403384.zip

My CID is GOOGL001 (two oh's, two zeros). I'm unlocked and S-OFF, but I don't think that matters. Can't have custom recovery like TWRP.
