Hey guy i wanted to experiment with roms a bit. I was on 2.9.2 (great job by the way Adrynalyne) on Voodoo and wanted to try some roms from rom manager. I am well aware that RM does now work on the fascinate. but i wanted to try a "build your own BlackHole Rom" and i got it all downloaded and told RM to install it and of course it didnt install it. next i found where the rom was downloaded to on the SD card and it tryed to manually flash every .zip that i download in rom manager. When i went to boot my phone only showed the samsung logo and did that annoying 3 vibrations that signals a Force Close and went into a boot loop.

Is there a proper way to manually install a rom that was downloaded in several parts? or is there a place i could build it on my computer into a Giant .zip and flash?

O and before i flashed i disabled the voodoo lag fix.

thanks for any help guys

And once again, the best advice posted by the more knowledgeable people here (including Adrynalyne himself) about not even touching rom manager goes completely ignored. I don't believe sonofskywalker3 has ever posted at XDA and has previously only had his ROMs available through rom manager. So that fact alone should tell you something about rom manager. Hopefully someone out there will pay attention to and give credit to sonofskywalker3's words. Or at least more than the repeated warnings and pleas from people like me, DroidXcon, Kevin Gosset, Adrynalyne, Sheepdog Elite, JaeKar99, gunnermike53, etc., etc., etc. Sonofskywalker53 also posted in that thread that he is working on a completely new way to build your own rom. But I guess in order to read what sonofskywalker3 said, people would actually have to listen to follow the advice of what the non-knowledgeable people here at AC were saying. And as everyone here knows that's the dumbest thing you could ever do is listen to any of us.

I think if you take the time to read through these forums you will find that I am an extremely nice guy, and pretty much everyone here will verify that. I spend countless hours here helping people and even go beyond that to read up on everything I can at other sites and share the info I found elsewhere here. But that's the key, you have to put in the time to read as much as you can here at the forums. If you had put in the time to do some reading, you probably would have come across one of the countless warnings we all have given about not using rom manager. You are hacking your phone by using any of the ROMs or methods in here, and it is best practice and in your best interest to know as much as you can about it hopefully before, but at the very least while you are doing anything to your phone. Any advice I give anyone here at the forums always has what I feel are their best interests at heart. And I always try to get people to help themselves while I help them by providing links to good sources of information for them to read and expand their knowledge base. That can only enhance their experience with and enjoyment of their phones.

SoS really needs a new way of building the rom. That online rom kitchen idea for the international Galaxy S would be a good way of doing it. I still use RM and SoS's section for adding stock apps back to the phone though, still the easiest way of doing it.
