its got a new look too.

TIP: if you want to zoom in on a Route(in Route Details) , double click the map; then you can pinch to zoom in/out.

For the app on the watch, I just realized I have "auto-update" turned on for all apps in Gear Manager. ie, I don't know when apps update, so I don't know what features are added (my phone is set to manually update so I can learn what new features apps get).

The latest date for MapMyRun is showing as 5/12 and I installed it on 5/8. Does anyone know what changes were made to the app?

The heart rate sensor on my Gear 2 didn't work before, but with this update it doesn't even find the watch! Is anyone else's working?

Try restarting both hardware and clear app cache

Okay, I tried that but it didn't make any difference. On the old version when I clicked on Heart rate in Sensor Settings, it showed every Bluetooth device I have, even my TV! With this new version, under Scanning for Devices it only has "Use ANT+" whatever that is, and no Bluetooth devices at all.

There is no heart rate monitoring through map my run

Not sure if you're talking about the watch or the phone, but on the phone there definitely is heart rate monitoring. Go to Settings>Heart Rate, Other Sensors...>Heart rate>Connect, and choose the Gear 2. That worked for me on the previous version but on 3.0.3 all I see for devices is "Use ANT+" whatever that is. No Bluetooth devices show at all, where the previous version showed all available Bluetooth devices, even my TV!

Is there a way to start tracking the workout from the watch rather than the app...so if the phone is stored you can just start it from the watch?

Here is what happens on my watch.

If I try to start MMR from watch, the PHONE app begins measuring distance, etc. The watch doesn't do squat. The start button never changes to a pause button and no data ever displays on the WATCH.

I MUST start from the PHONE app, wait a few moments for the watch app to catch up and everything is synced up from then on.

No amount of button pushing on the watch app (if starting it first) will get it working...

Someone should contact the makers of MMR and tell them that the watch needs to work w/o having to open up the phone app FIRST.

After many many tries, the watch app has finally started to initiate a workout AND show data, AND show the pause button. I think by all of the ways I interacted with the watch (taking the app offscreen, then hitting the app icon again to bring it to the foreground) it cleared out something in a cache or something, as it's now working the way we would expect it to. I hope it continues to do that! :)

And maybe if i had uninstalled and reinstalled it would have worked.

Glad you got it working! I still can only get the app to show on phone when I start it on the watch. Starting it on the phone still does not start it on my watch.

Does anyone else's MMR 3.0.3 on their phone show ANY Bluetooth devices under Settings>Heart Rate, Other Sensors...>Heart rate>Connect? On the previous version mine did, but now it only says "Use ANT+". I can't find any option to tell it to use Bluetooth instead. I was able to connect to my Gear 2 before but I don't see anyway to do it now.

I can't count how many times I tried to get it to work and I was very patient with waiting to see if it would kick in and start working but it wouldn't even after many minutes. I don't really know why it started working today

I'm in the same boat. I did see it briefly after toggling bluetooth on the watch and checking the make visible box. Even then, it still indicated that it was disconnected once connected and no HR data transfer was apparent.

Has anyone been able to get the heart rate monitor to work with the MMR gear 2 app? I cannot. Please let me know how you were able to get it.

Well, maybe its a "maybe" for those who can't handle the truth! :) Maybe someday it might work? It would have to (obviously) be using TWO BT connections. ALREADY, MMR will drop your battery life at LEAST 32% per hour and maybe closer to 38%.

Still no solution since the update to 3.0.5, but I did find this on the MMR app support page: https://support.mapmyfitness.com/hc...tooth-Smart-ANT-Connectors-to-the-Android-app

"Bluetooth Smart and ANT+ heart rate monitors and other cycling sensors have limited support in the MMF Android apps. Android devices running Android 4.3 (Jellybean) will connect with Bluetooth LE heart rate monitors. Some devices with built in ANT+ technology will connect with ANT+ heart rate monitors and cycling sensors. If your Android device is supported by either of these technologies, a "Sensor Settings" button will appear in the "Settings" section within our app. If your "Settings" section does not have an "Sensor Settings" subsection, then your Android device is currently not supported."

Since my Note 3 shows ANT+ in the heart rate monitor connection, according to this, since I do have "either of these technologies", I should see a "Sensor Settings" button in the "Settings" section but I don't. I have opened a ticket with MapMyFitness but has anyone else been able to connect to their Gear 2/Neo yet, or even have the "Sensor Settings" button in the app?
