Maps running in background?

About a week ago, I noticed I was finishing the day with less battery that normal for me. Typically, I'd have over 50% battery after 12+ hour days of normal use during a work day. Even though I had been on vacation and have been using my phone less than a normal workday, I was ending with about 30% battery. I checked my stats and found Maps was consuming 10-12% of my battery (which ranks as the top battery drain) since last charge, even though I had not run the app for awhile. I force closed it, but the next day it was still there. I disabled it (which uninstalled updates) and now I'm back to my normal battery life. Anyone else have any battery drain issues with Maps? I'm assuming it was from the latest update.

maps dont even show up on my battery when i dont use them.
Clear data cache of maps app and setup the app again.that should fix the issue u have
